We’ve Moved

Malletts Bay School now has a campus subscription to edublogs. The Bonfigli Beat can now be found at http://blogs.csdvt.org/bonfiglik/

Barbecue on Friday

It was great to have so many families join us at the barbecue.

Student Winners

Mrs. Benay announced the winners of her essay/poster contest. Several students from the class participated. Congratulations to all of you. You wrote or designed a poster about what you learned this year about staying healthy.
Great job Petra, Pearl, Julia, Katie, Gabbi, Blake and Henry. I’m very proud of you!

Bayside Day at Malletts Bay School

Due to the weather forecast, we had to have our Bayside Day at school. It turned out to be a blast. We had lots of time to play and enjoyed the slip and slide. Take a look at our day!

Minibeasts are in the room

We looked at our habitats today and had a few surprises. There were spiders in some we didn’t know we had. One habitat had some spider eggs (so we think) and a cricket hopped out once the lid came off. However, Shane was able to catch it. We sketched what we saw and will see if there are any changes tomorrow.

The Can Man

Eva from TD North came in to read The Can Man. It was a great story about giving to others. The book has been donated to the school library. Eva also has given us information about their summer reading incentive. If we read 10 books, we can bring our list into the bank and they will put $10 into our very own account.

Habitat Study

We have been out in the woods this week studying the habitat and insects that live there. We built terrariums today and have invited some insects in to stay for a few days. We will provide the proper light, air, space, food, shelter, and water so that they will be comfortable and survive.

Final Four Winds

We had our final Four Winds of the year. We have learned so much from our parent volunteers on various life cycles of plants and animals. If you look back through the blog, you can revisit all that we have experienced from Four Winds.

Surveys and Graphs

Yesterday we came up with survey questions and today we had the chance to create a graph of the results using Microsoft Excel. Take a look at us in action and the creative graphs that were made.

Netbook Work Friday Morning

We spent the morning completing projects we have been working on that require the netbooks. Students read the Globetracker blog and completed their summary of Meri and Geo’s mission. Next they worked with their partner on their photostory of the planet they researched. And finally, they worked with their team on Tween Tribune to come up with some news to report on. Next week we begin filming these newscasts! I was very proud of their independence and teamwork!
